Frequently Asked Questions

When do you open for the season?

For 2025, our plan is to open Memorial Day weekend and we will stay open through October 15th (weather dependent).

What are the operating hours?

  • Self-shuttle Thursdays we are open from Noon - 5pm.
  • Friday shuttles run from Noon - 7pm
  • Saturday and Sunday we operate the shuttles from 10am - 5pm
  • Monday - Wednesday is reserved for private park rentals, camps and lessons.

How do we get to the Panhandle Bike Ranch?

The Panhandle Bike Ranch is located in beautiful Sagle, Idaho. Our address is 607 Five Lakes Estates Sagle, Idaho 83860

We are located about 15 minutes from Sandpoint, an hour from Coeur d'Alene, and 1.5 hours from Spokane.

Please see the location page for our exact location and directions via Google maps.

Do I need a pass to access the Panhandle Bike Ranch?

Yes. When you reserve your day pass, we will send you a gate code to access the Ranch. You can only access the Ranch with a gate code.

What is your cancellation policy?

Once you have reserved your passes we do not allow cancellations. We only have a certain number of shuttle spots per day. When you reserve a spot, it's locked in for that day.

If we have severe weather that requires us to close the trails at the Ranch, we will issue credits or refunds on a case by case basis.

How does riding at the Panhandle Bike Ranch work?

When you buy a shuttle pass, we shuttle you and your bike up to the top of the trails in a custom F-450 shuttle truck that holds 20 people and we pull a bike trailer that holds 20 bikes. When you get to the top, you ride down the trails and we meet you back at the bottom to bring you up again.

Are there other options besides paying for the shuttle pass?

We will have a "self-shuttle" day on Thursdays and the passes will be half price. This means you climb the road to the top of the trails using a traditional mountain bike or pedal assist e-mountain bike. Passes will be available as we get closer to opening day.

I'm new to bike parks, are the trails difficult?

We have trails for all skill levels and abilities. Our green trail (First Rodeo) is beginner friendly and is the longest trail at the Ranch. Please see our trails page for more information.

Do you offer camping?

We will be developing our campground during the summer of 2025. For the 2025 season, we will offer parking lot camping spots for Tents, Trucks, and Camper Vans.

What facilities do you offer at the base area?

For 2025 we will have a welcome center / bike rental shop and bathroom and shower facilities.

Do you allow fat tire bikes?

Fat tire bikes are allowed on self-shuttle days. Fat tire bikes do not fit in our custom bike trailers, so they are not allowed on shuttle days.

Do you allow e-bikes?

We allow pedal assist e-mountain bikes only. Throttle assist e-bikes are not allowed.

Why do you only offer a limited quantity of 10 season passes?

To make sure all of our guests have a great riding experience, we have to limit the number of people per day so that our two shuttle trucks can handle shuttling people up to the top in a timely manner.

This requires us to use a pass reservation system, which makes it difficult to offer an unlimited number of season passes.

If you missed out on getting one of our limited season passes, we do offer the 20 pass bundle as a close alternative to a season pass. You just have to make a reservation for each of your pass uses.

Will you have rental mountain bikes?

Yes! We do have a rental bike fleet and will have those up on our website as we get closer to opening day.
